Established in 1971, the Department of Geography offers research facilities, postgraduate and undergraduate courses in geography and also an Advance Diploma in Computer Assisted Cartography. It also organizes and supervises programmes in various aspects of geography in Urban, Transport, Agriculture, Population and Settlement with the help of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System. Eighteen Scholars did Ph.D. from this Department and thirty-two  students are doing research on various areas of Geography.
